Preventing struck-by accidents: part one

Workers can suffer great harm if they are struck by an object on a construction site. Reportedly, in 2007, struck-by accidents accounted for 26% of all construction deaths. There are many different types of struck-by accidents that can occur on a construction site. In the next couple of posts, we will be discussing a few of these different types of struck-by accidents and steps that can be taken to help prevent them from occurring. In today’s post, we will be discussing stuck-by accidents caused by objects that are being moved. Occasionally, on construction sites, large objects will be moved by a crane or similar device. Worker killed by falling object at construction site

It is very important that construction companies take all reasonable precautions regarding large objects on construction sites that could potentially fall. This is because falling objects can cause a great deal of harm to construction workers. Construction accidents involving falling objects can sometimes even result in a construction worker’s death. The dangerous nature of construction accidents involving falling objects can be seen in an incident that recently occurred in Louisiana. The incident involved a 55-year-old man from Alabama who was a construction worker. The man was working on a construction project at a site in a Louisiana state park. Last Saturday, the man was operating a crane at this construction site. Then, a piece of construction equipment reportedly fell and landed on the crane.
